Acumatica’s new 2021 R1 has finally been launched, revealing advances and new functionality that take business management software to the next level. 

With the new release featuring several updates (too many to list), here are five key improvements: 

1. Usability Enhancements

Businesses can now create CRM contacts automatically with mobile image recognition for business cards, send targeted customer communication through filtered Generic Inquiry (GI) results, and specify User Defined Fields (UDF) default values.

2. Financial Management and Payroll Process

Improve financial data visibility with included, pre-built Financial Dashboards. Automate cross-company sales with the vastly expanded intercompany module while improving vendor visibility and managing company transactions using Centralized Vendor Management and Company Groups components. The Payment Batch Process in the Acumatica Payroll Module now offers importing directly into payroll batches and modifications to direct deposit batches. 

3. Inventory and Distribution Functionality

You can now add spaces to inventory IDs and descriptions, apply mass updates, and add matrix items to sales quotes and opportunities. Drop Ship capabilities include linking drop ship sales orders with purchase orders, as well as managing order changes and vendor returns. 

4. Commerce Integration Updates

To combat credit card theft, at-risk orders are flagged and put on hold when importing to the ERP system. Refunds can now be managed from within either Acumatica or BigCommerce, and supports cancelled orders, partial refunds, complete refunds, and refunds without returns. 

5. Other Industry Improvements

Noteworthy improvements in the manufacturing and construction that include accurate delivery commitments through APS, and simplified invoice correction and enhanced Procore integration.
