Just off the heels of launching Acumatica 2019 R2, Acumatica Summit 2020 saw the launch of Acumatica’s latest release. 2,300 people gathered in Las Vegas to attend the fast-growing ERP company’s annual summit to hear what’s to come in Acumatica 2020 R1.

Our team got the invite and nine of us went down to check out the 2020 Acumatica Summit. Here are some of the highlights of Acumatica 2020 R1 we think you’ll love.

1. “Great experiences start where the document does”

Adobe integration with Acumatica

In the latest release, Acumatica users will be able to access Adobe PDF services from within the ERP system. Rather than editing and signing PDF’s off the platform, users can complete everything they need on a PDF within Acumatica– streamlining business processes further.

2. User Experience, Usability, Design!

Improving the user experience of Acumatica was central to this year’s summit. Options for changing how often the dashboard is refreshed and advanced pivot table calculations were developed to simplify the reporting process.

Performance enhancements to Acumatica were drilled down on to enhance and support the experience of businesses in a wider range of verticals. Acumatica 2020 R1 is looking to establish Acumatica as an ERP that can work out-of-the-box for more business workflows without the need for costly customizations.

3. Advancements in Artificial Intelligence

Jessica Gadbois Expense Receipt

Acumatica 2020 R1 will be adding features that harness the power of AI to simplify import processing and improve business intelligence. The Summit showcased a few of the use cases these new updates can apply to.

Acumatica’s Jessica Gadbois whipped out her phone and opened the Acumatica application; she snapped a picture of a receipt from a restaurant and it was uploaded in the ERP mobile app. Within seconds, Acumatica identified key information on the receipt and updated fields in the Acumatica expense receipt automatically.

Users won’t have to manually input expense info anymore. A simple picture of the receipt and Acumatica will do all the work. Employees can get paid much faster now!

Other innovative additions to Acumatica in 2020 R1 included the ability to record travel and break time while on service calls: useful for on site construction users.

4. New Payroll Module

A new module that will be available natively in Acumatica 2020 R1 was made for accountants and controllers. They will be able to access advanced payroll functionality: support for salaried and waged workers, union wages, timecard integration, tax forms, and overtime rules.

5. Strengthened Project Management Tools

Acumatica 2020 R1 will enable project management teams to better track their projects within Acumatica with an expanded set of tools. Daily field reports like photo logs and weather, payment tracking, and integration with Microsoft Teams will be added capabilities.

Construction companies will benefit from the integration with Climacell– users will be notified about weather conditions at their sites inside Acumatica, allowing users to make cost-saving and life-saving decisions.

6. Acumatica Joins Forces With BigCommerce

Users will now be able to take advantage of bi-directional information sharing between Acumatica and BigCommerce. For eCommerce businesses, this new ability to interact with their data seamlessly is a massive announcement. This is huge for both B2B and B2C businesses in distribution.

7. Continued Growth

Acumatica Robot

Acumatica launches two updates every year and they won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Language translation, increasing the role of IoT devices and robots in automation, and keying in on the power of image recognition is what we can look forward to in future Acumatica launches. Ajoy Krishnamoorthy, Acumatica’s VP of Platform, modeled how a robot can aid in warehouse workflows by moving parts around the warehouse.

74% of its employees are in R&D positions and attendees were able to see why. The next few years will be centered on driving efficiency and productivity through user-centered design. Acumatica has consistently proved to be ahead of its competitors in this category. This has unsurprisingly contributed to its high customer satisfaction ratings and success with industry-leading organizations and publications.
