Your Afternoon Smile

"Like almost everyone who uses e-mail, I receive a ton of spam every day. Much of it offers to help me get out of debt or get rich quick. It would be funny if it weren't so exciting."

Looking Forward To The Autumn

Summer is drawing to a close. People are returning from holidays, hopefully re-charged and eager to get going. With September we traditionally see a significant up surge in business activity.

It also seems that the economic indicators, despite fits and starts, are starting to look positive. So we have convergence that suggests positive business prospects.

So what are the motivators for investment?

For most of our clients, these seem to be how to reduce costs, how to increase revenue, how to become more effective. Business leaders want to invest now to gain market share and prepare the business to go to the next level, as the economy improves.

We’ve seen much more server virtualization to save on computer hardware costs. There is increasing interest in Unified Communication to reduce telephone costs and to increase sales by opening doors to greater responsiveness to clients and prospects.

There is also a greater willingness to use managed services to reduce network support costs while raising the level of delivery.

There is also greater understanding that now businesses use software as a major competitive weapon. Over time, being 5% more effective than your competitor is a huge advantage. Accordingly, staying current with your software to take advantage of the latest capabilities is important.

Integrating your software with both internal and external systems increases the velocity of transactions. This reduces costs, improves cash flow and facilitates revenue increases.

Paying attention to security concerns, so that you can defend against attacks, ensures that you can stay focused on your goals.

Evron has experts who can address in detail the areas listed as well as other solutions that are critical to you.

Epicor 9: An In-Depth Analysis

What Epicor 9 Can Do For You

Epicor 9: Leading ERP Functionality Built On Break-Through Architecture

Some very compelling statements have been made about Epicor 9, Epicor Software’s breakthrough ERP. Two highly respected analyst firms, Gartner Group, and Butler Group have reported that 9 is a game changer.

Here is an excerpt from the Butler Group Report:

"The suite impresses with the strong focus on easy orchestration of services into custom processes, and a service bus (Epicor Service Connect) that provides the core messaging, security, and transformation capabilities, and also a graphical UI for defining tasks and events."

The Gartner Group Magic Quadrant for Mid-market Report advises:

"[Epicor 9] …through it’s use of modern technology, places it as the most visionary and complete offering in the market."

Epicor’s future is founded upon the motto: Protect, Extend, and Converge. The strategy refers to an alignment of business process, technology, and management. Simplified, the idea is that business unit owners lever technology at a pace that meets the needs of their enterprise.

What Has Changed?

Epicor 9 users enjoy a new software experience.

For customers of other ERP products, the user adapts to the layout and supported business functionality as shaped by the software. The Epicor 9 framework: Epicor Internet Component Environment (ICE) provides an adaptable foundation that can adjust to the changing business and personal needs of the user. Additionally the new framework ensures a more straightforward integration with other products resulting in greater business productivity.

The applications are built upon Epicor’s TrueSOA ™ (Service Oriented Architecture), which enables the secure exposure of components and entities to configuration using XML and web services. Epicor Business Process Modeling (BPM) tool is built into the Epicor 9 applications and allows a business user to configure events, conditions and actions to make the applications support their business rules and processes.

Results

Epicor 9 is a remarkable achievement in software design. It enables organizations to achieve extraordinary business results through alignment of business process and technology.

What's All The Talk About Business Intelligence?

The ability to think through problems in business has always been, and will always be a pre-requisite for entrepreneurial success. That is a need that is etched in stone and will never be overcome by people that lack this skill. But what if your competitor has your abilities, plus an edge that technology can give him?

Small businesses tend to be dominated by the personalities of the owners. Their views, philosophies, and business acumen set the tone for the policies, directions and decisions that the company will take. No matter how bright the owner, he cannot remember everything. Traditionally, awareness of more detail was increased by the employment of an executive assistant, but as the enterprise grows even two heads cannot remember everything. But what if you had an assistant that monitors preset situations, can process preset functions, and will immediately inform designated staff as to the existence of a situation, and what the assistant did about it. Sounds like an outtake of the Twilight Zone? Not really, we can install it next week for you.

Knowledgesync is a data monitoring tool that is installed in tandem with BusinessVision. You set the criteria, and the program monitors BusinessVision twenty four hours a day, three hundred and sixty five days a year. When an event occurs, the program triggers an action that happens automatically, and then informs your staff as to the result.

Example: A client sends you a purchase order for a specific item. You do not have enough of the item in stock to fulfill both the order and your existing orders for the product. In addition your client does not have enough credit left in his line to allow this shipment to go out. There are two ways to deal with this situation.

The existing procedure – The order is entered and the shipper tries to fulfill it, only to find that you do not have enough in stock to satisfy everyone. The shipper puts the order in the back order file. Eventually the purchasing agent finds out about the shortage and orders the goods. The goods come in and the staff tries to ship the goods only to find out that the order caused a credit hold. The credit manager is brought in and eventually the order is shipped or rejected. Unfortunately it cannot be rejected because you have already purchased the goods to satisfy the order.

The final outcome:
After many stops and starts, the order gets through the system. You may be forced to take a risky sale because your system could not warn you about your pending danger.

The procedure with BusinessVision and Knowledgesync: Immediately upon the order’s entry into the system, an email is sent to the purchasing agent informing him of the impending shortage and the possible credit shortage. At the same time an email is sent to the credit manager informing her of the possible problem, with instructions to inform the purchasing agent about her decision.

The new outcome:
Neither the shipper, purchasing agent, or credit manager wastes any time. They work in unison. The company does not purchase or ship anything without a plan in place.

That is the edge that business intelligence can give you. Give me a call and let us give you the advantage.
