New In Sage BusinessVision 7.2:
Sage BusinessVision 7.2 has arrived.
This month, Sage released Sage BusinessVision version 7.2, designed to help make internal business processes operate faster and easier, so you can spend less time focusing on daily tasks and more time on planning for future business success. Our experts have identified the top three most exciting new features in version 7.2:
1. Multiple Units of Measure
Inventory is often purchased in bulk, and then sold to customers in individual
units. For example, when it arrives as a bulk shipment, Diet Cola could be
measured by the case. It may later be separated and sold by six pack, or by
the can. Up to now, this would've required you to set up different part numbers
for the same product and then do a separate conversion in the Bill of Materials
module.
The new Multiple Units of Measure functionality allows you to set up different units of measure for one part number (see below). This removes the hassle of manually converting units-and the risk of costly errors. When creating invoices, purchase orders or inventory reports, you simply select the appropriate unit of measure and Sage Businessvsion automatically modifies the inventory for you behind the scenes, keeping your inventory accurate.

2. General Ledger Improvements
Two key improvements have been made to the G/L:
99-Year General Ledger History: Enhanced General Ledger history lookup now gives you access to 99 years of General Ledger history in seconds right from the General Ledger inquiry screen.
Combined, these changes give your company the ability to import previous years of information and make use of the powerful comparative reports that come right "out of the box".
3. Customized Screen Appearance
It may not sound like much, but the ability to customize your BusinessVision Desktop for a unique user logon can be very valuable. If you manage more than one company's set of books you can make the screen for each company look different - for example by including that company's logo, or simply changing the colour of the background.
This tells you at a glance which company you're in and reduces the opportunity for error when it comes to processing data. This is especially valuable if you have files from more than one company open at the same time.

Powerful Find Function
The Find Function is one of Sage Business Vision seven's most powerful new features, it allows you to:
Generate a list of results by searching through any of the selectable modules.
Cross reference criteria from multiple fields to perform specific requests.
Save common searches for regular use.
Export your list directly to Excel, where you can use it for reporting, marketing campaigns, etc.

The limited browse feature of the previous version has been

3 years of Fiscal Periods
There are now three years listed in Fiscal Periods for a total of three years: Last Year, This Year and Next Year. This is particularly useful if you would like to generate post-dated invoices, which you can now do for more than a year into the future. View Fiscal Periods Screen Shot >
Additional Highlights Include
New, Improved User Interface: With its new tab view, users can now review various key customer information from multiple locations within the system in one screen. Enhanced search and find capabilities, copying features, and improved data entry functions also increase productivity by allowing users to find and enter data quickly and efficiently.
New Database, Expanded Tables and Fields: Store much more information on clients with the ability to create and use a much greater number of customized tables and fields, improving the overall capability, functionality, and usefulness of their accounting system.
Key, Core Modules Upgraded: The General Ledger now supports multiple fiscal years, allowing users to post into any period of any of the open years. Additional user-friendly short-cuts and functions have also been created in version 7.0.
New Reporting Enhancements: Includes Crystal Reports® Designer, for maintenance and creation of forms and reports. Over 50 new reports have been added, including Cash Flow Statement, Financial Statement by Fiscal Period, Financial Statement Summary, Financial Ratios, and Projected Cash Balances.
Custom Pack:
Sage BusinessVision CustomPack is a unique customizable product that can be purchased as an add-on to youre BV software and is comprised of five powerful elements:
Microsoft Windows base: This results a short installation time and ease of use, allowing your
employees to be up and running quickly.
Real Time System: True, up-to-the-minute financial reporting at any time. When an entry is made
in one module, the entire system is automatically updated, giving you a complete financial picture of your
company at all times.Traditionally, in order to update data changes made in one module to another required transactions to be processed or “batched” at certain times, such as at the end of the day or end of the month. BusinessVision requires no batching of transactions from one module to another and there
are no month-end processes or closes to worry about.
Business Intelligence Reports: With a reporting suite of over 150 pre-designed reports, forms and graphs, you know exactly how well your business is doing—at any time! In addition, users can easily add new reports and modify existing ones using Seagate’s Crystal Reports software. (must be purchased separately)
Customizable to Meet Your Unique Requirements: The award winning BusinessVision 32 is not only flexible, when you use the option CustomPack, it's also customizable! Start with one of our specially designed industry specific templates, or create your own fields from scratch. (Not available for Limited Edition version)
